A Mattapan man was convicted Thursday of second-degree murder in a 2020 shooting that killed a 26-year-old Quincy resident, prosecutors announced.
Jason Woods, 32, was found guilty in the 2020 fatal shooting of 26-year-old Lovenson Pierre, of Quincy, the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said in a press release.
Around 9:09 a.m. on Aug. 6, 2020, Boston police found a man, later identified as Pierre, suffering from a gunshot wound in the area of Hazleton Street and Blue Hill Avenue, prosecutors said.
Boston EMS pronounced Pierre dead at the scene, prosecutors said.
Woods will be sentenced Friday in Suffolk Superior Court before Judge Joshua Wall, the release said. His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday evening.
