A Pittsfield woman won $10 million on a new scratch ticket on Sept. 8, according to the Mass. State Lottery Commission.
Sarah Newton bought a “$200X” $20 scratch ticket at Convenience Plus on West Housatonic Street in Pittsfield.
After winning the millions, Newton chose to receiver her winnings in a one-time cash payment of $6.5 million before taxes. She plans to buy a house and support her family with her earnings, she told Mass. Lotery.
Convenience Plus will receive $500,000 for selling the winning ticket, the commission reported.
There are still two jackpots available on the “$200X” scratch tickets, according to the Mass. State Lottery website.
