Two squirrels in a Connecticut town appeared to have been painted red and blue, East Hartford’s Animal Control Division said Monday.
The furry critters, who “appear to be okay,” were apparently painted in the area of Naubuc Avenue and High Street, the division said in a Facebook post.
Photos posted show the squirrels covered head to tail in bright color, one red and one blue.
“Our Animal Control Officers are currently working with a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in an effort to determine how best to render aid to the squirrels,” Animal Control Officer Kristin Judd said.
The division is asking for anyone with information about the incident to call 860-291-7572 and leave a message.
