Authorities are investigating the death of an 85-year-old South Boston man who was killed Monday in a multi-vehicle crash involving a teenage driver in New Hampshire.
Troopers responded around 2:48 p.m. Monday to reports of the three-vehicle crash on the F.E. Everett Turnpike northbound near the 7E exit, New Hampshire State Police said.
Police said the preliminary investigation indicates a 17-year-old girl from Dunstable, Massachusetts was driving a white Audi north when it rear-ended a Lexus driven by 85-year-old Joseph Casper of South Boston.
The Lexus then crashed into a pickup truck that rolled onto its side, police said.
Casper was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The 17-year-old was taken to a local hospital for the treatment of minor injuries; the driver of the pickup truck also suffered minor injuries in the crash, police said.
“The cause of Casper’s death remains under investigation,” state police said. “All aspects of this crash remain under investigation.”
State Police are asking anyone with information to contact Trooper Mark Lingerman at [email protected].
