4 dead, including 2 kids, in suspected N.H. murder-suicide

Authorities said a toddler was found alive and uninjured inside the Madbury home.

Two adults and two children were found dead at a New Hampshire home Monday in a suspected murder-suicide, authorities said.

Early Tuesday afternoon, authorities identified the four family members as Emily Long, 34, Ryan Long, 48, son Parker Long, 8, and daughter Ryan Long, 6.

“Each of the deceased family members appears to have suffered gunshot wounds, and were pronounced dead at the scene,” New Hampshire Attorney General John M. Formella’s office said in a joint news release with law enforcement officials. “At this time, detectives are investigating this event as a potential murder/suicide.”

A third child, a toddler, was found alive and uninjured inside the home in Madbury, a small town about 15 miles from Portsmouth.

New Hampshire State Police troopers made the grisly discovery after receiving a 911 call from the Moharimet Drive home at about 8:21 p.m., according to officials.

“The caller reported that several people were deceased,” officials added.

Autopsies are scheduled for Wednesday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Concord. The investigation remains ongoing, but authorities said there is no known threat to the general public at this time.
