Authorities are investigating the murder of a 67-year-old man who was found shot and stabbed in his New Hampshire home over the weekend.
Police in Canaan, New Hampshire responded to a home on Sawyer Hill Road Sunday evening to check on the welfare of William Colao, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office said in a statement on Monday. At Colao’s home, they found the 67-year-old resident dead, suffering from what appeared to be a stab wound.
An autopsy determined Colao suffered multiple stab wounds and a gunshot wound to the head, and his death has been ruled a homicide, officials said.
“While the investigation is ongoing, there is no known threat to the general public at this time,” the AG’s office said in a statement.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available, investigators said.
