Mass. man dies while swimming in N.H. lake

The 81-year-old Westford man possibly suffered a medical event, police said.

A Massachusetts man died Thursday after he was pulled from a New Hampshire lake by a good Samaritan.

Jack Bilodeau, 81, of Westford, “was believed to have been swimming after his drifting boat on Lake Winnisquam near Mohawk Island in Tilton” just before noon, according to New Hampshire State Police.

“Bilodeau was last seen having a possible medical event in the water and briefly submerged before being quickly pulled out of the lake by a good Samaritan,” police said.

The good Samaritan performed life-saving efforts on Bilodeau back on the shore until first responders arrived and took him to Concord Hospital-Laconia, where he was pronounced dead.
