A 3-year-old was in critical but stable condition after falling from an apartment window in Dorchester on Monday, police said.
Boston police responded around 9:08 p.m. to Evans Street for the report of a 4-year-old child falling from a third floor apartment window, a police report said.
The child was later identified as a 3-year-old boy, the report said.
The toddler was alert and conscious and was lying in bed with “his limbs sprawled out” when first responders arrived, the report states.
The three-year-old had difficulty breathing and the left side of his upper body was swollen and injured, according to the report.
Boston EMS rushed the child to Boston Children’s Hospital, where he was “stable and alert,” police said.
The toddler is no longer in life threatening condition, a police spokesperson said Tuesday afternoon.
The third floor of the apartment was frozen and secured for further investigation, the report says.
The scene was processed by detectives, the Boston Police Homicide Unit, and Crime Scene Response.
