In a roller-coaster ride of a good news-bad news post, the Mendon Twin Drive-In theater announced Monday that one of its screens had been damaged by a wayward turkey, the screen would be soon fixed, but the turkey had perished.
“The bad news is that the turkey died,” the business wrote in the now-viral Facebook post. “The good news is that we are selling turkey nuggets this weekend.”
That last part was a joke, the theater confessed in the comments, also joking that attorney James Sokolove was suing on behalf of the turkey’s family for $5 million.
The theater did say — perhaps jokingly, perhaps not — that “a brief ceremony for Mr Turkey” would be held before this Friday’s movies.
“We encourage everyone to tell your favorite Mr Turkey stories and also bring gravy and or mashed potatoes for our brand new Turkey Nuggets!!!” the theather said, again most likely joking.
