A man died Sunday after losing control of his motorcycle in New Bedford, local officials announced Monday.
The 37-year-old man was found by first responders around 2:30 a.m. receiving CPR from a civilian, Bristol Count District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn said in a press release.
The man was located in the left lane between Union Street and Elm Street.
New Bedford police took over life saving measures until EMS arrived.
The man was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Quinn’s office said. His identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the man lost control while operating his motorcycle, which was located in close range of the accident, the DA said.
The crash does not appear to be suspicious, officials said, and is under investigation by State Police.
