A man who was spotted in several backyards in Allston/Brighton earlier this month may have been the same person who allegedly followed a woman in Brookline, police say.
Brookline police are asking for the public’s help identifying the man, sharing photos taken from the incident along with images previously circulated by Boston police related to the alleged prowling in Allston/Brighton.
Boston police released photos last week of people allegedly involved in incidents near Kilsyth Road on July 7, 12, 15 and 16, between midnight and 1 a.m. Police said they identified one suspect, but up to two more suspects remain unidentified. In each incident, the suspect, who reportedly speaks Spanish, entered a backyard in the area and then exited onto Kilsyth or Colliston Road.
“A similar incident happened on Beacon St in Brookline and may be related to the Boston incidents,” Brookline police said Wednesday, noting that Kilsyth Road is along the town line.
In Brookline, a woman reported a man followed her from the area of Beacon Street and Ayr Road, repeatedly asking if she was lost. He allegedly followed her even after she said she wasn’t lost.
The woman took refuge in a vestibule on Beacon Street, police said.
“The man then attempted to walk into the vestibule where she was standing. The color photo on the flyer was taken seconds later,” police said. “Boston PD suspects these incidents are being committed by more than one person.”
Neither of the individuals are wanted on charges at this time, police said, but the department is asking for help identifying the men.
