A newlywed couple’s party bus got “Storrowed” last month as it was en route to their wedding reception.
On June 21, Varteni and Steve Akian were dancing and drinking with their wedding party on the bus when it slowly bumped into an overpass on Storrow Drive.
In a video shared with Boston.com, the bus backs up after the contact, with some jaws dropped.
Video contains explicit language.
“As the bride, I had a brief moment of panic thinking we’re going to be stuck under this bridge and be late to our wedding reception, but my husband immediately turned the mood around by encouraging and motivating us, saying nothing would stop us from having the best day ever,” the bride, Varteni, told Boston.com.
The Watertown couple shared their vows at St. James Armenian Church and were headed to the Venezia Boston for their reception, according to NBC10.
Since the Akians’ wedding day, the story of their wedding day Storrowing has gone viral. Varteni said the frenzy on social media and in the news “has felt like the wedding high has been reignited.”
“It’s been very surreal,” she said, “and it’s been great sharing a tiny glimpse of our love story with everyone else.”
