A 53-year-old was arrested Tuesday and charged with murdering a man in his Lynnfield home in May, prosecutors announced.
John Kosta of Middleton was arraigned Tuesday in Peabody District Court on the charge for the death of Timothy O’Neil, 55, the Essex County District Attorney’s office said in a statement. Kosta pleaded not guilty and was held without bail.
Lynnfield police responded to a 9-1-1 call on May 9 around 8:30 p.m., arriving at O’Neil’s home to find the 55-year-old suffering from apparent trauma, the DA’s office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kosta was arrested early Tuesday morning by the fugitive apprehension division of Massachusetts State Police, U.S. marshals, and detectives assigned to the Essex County District Attorney’s office.
An attorney for Kosta did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Kosta is set to court on Aug. 27 for a probable cause hearing.
