2 teenaged victims identified in fatal Dartmouth crash

Kevin Dos Santos Lopes and Amilton De Pina Semedo were killed in a car crash on 195 West in Dartmouth on Saturday, officials said.

Two teenagers were identified as the victims of a fatal car crash on Saturday in Dartmouth, the district attorney said. 

19-year-old Kevin Dos Santos Lopes of New Bedford and 18-year-old Amilton De Pina Semedo of Pawtucket, RI, were killed in a crash on 195 West near the Reed Road exit Saturday afternoon, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III said on Sunday.

The single motor vehicle crash, which occurred at 1:35 p.m., ejected Lopes and Semedo from the vehicle, the DA said.

The two were brought to a nearby hospital where they were pronounced dead, authorities said. 

The vehicle was identified as a 2006 gray Chevy Equinox, the DA said, and the the crash dislodged the SUV’s engine.

This crash is not deemed suspicious, and is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police and the DA.
