Trader Joe’s has announced the opening of another store in Greater Boston.
The store will be located at 1165 Needham St. in Newton, just three miles from the West Newton Trader Joe’s location.
“We’ve consulted our maps and compass and have found a terrific location for a store in Newton, MA,” Trader Joe’s said in the store opening announcement.
While the opening date has not been set, the announcement states, “Our crew is working hard so we can open our doors.”
The announcement also expresses Trader Joe’s eagerness to become a better neighbor in the Newton area, citing its Neighborhood Shares program that donates unsold products to local nonprofits.
In 2024, Trader Joe’s donated 98 million pounds of food across 579 stores through its Neighborhood Shares program, according to the company.
In April, Trader Joe’s announced it will open a store in West Roxbury at 1999 Centre St, raising the total number of Trader Joe’s locations in Massachusetts from 23 to 25 upon the store openings. The last Trader Joe’s to open in Boston was its second Back Bay store, which opened at 500 Boylston St. last year.
