Four people were hospitalized after an ambulance and truck collided in Franklin Park Tuesday morning, police said.
The ambulance, from Coastal Medical, was transporting a patient when it was “struck” by another vehicle while entering the roadway, Coastal Medical Transportation Systems CEO Alexandre Theoharidis said.
The crash occurred at 124 Jewish War Veterans Drive at approximately 9:40 a.m., according to the Boston Police Department. First responders found a Coastal Medical Ambulance flipped onto its side.
Boston EMS brought four patients to area hospitals, a Boston EMS spokesperson said.
The four victims had minor injuries, police said. They included two EMTs and a patient inside an ambulance, WCVB reported.
“We are proud of our EMT’s actions and professionalism,” Theoharidis said. “Our thoughts are with the individuals who were affected by the incident, including the four individuals who are receiving medical treatment for minor injuries. Thankfully, no one was critically injured.”
The cause of the crash is an ongoing investigation, Boston police said.
