A 25-year-old Newburyport woman is dead following a single-car crash in Rowley Friday.
The driver was found unresponsive after her car failed to complete a turn, left the roadway, and struck a tree, according to the Rowley Police Department.
Rowley Police and Fire responded to a call on Friday afternoon and found a Ford sedan with heavy front end damage off of Main Street (Route 1A North) at the scene, according to the report.
Police identified the driver as Natalie Munoz, 25, from Newburyport. After receiving on-scene care from Rowley Police and Fire, Munoz was transported to Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport by Action Ambulance, where she was later pronounced dead.
The passenger, a 27-year-old female whose name has not been released, was also transported to Anna Jacques Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and later released.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing. Police asked that anyone who may have witnessed the crash contact Officer Patrick Silva or Officer Jesse Mazzie at 978-948-7644, or by email at [email protected] or [email protected].
