A person’s body was found off the coast of New Hampshire on Sunday, police announced.
Someone on a fishing boat contacted the Coast Guard and reported a body floating near the Isles of Shoals shortly after 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 13, New Hampshire State Police said in a press release Thursday. State Police recovered the body, the agency said.
The Isles of Shoals sit on the border between New Hampshire and Maine, around six miles from the coast.
Investigators are still working to determine the person’s identity and to uncover how they died, State Police said.
“There are no known threats to the public at this time in connection with this incident,” the agency said.
