Police are asking for the public’s help as they search for a man who allegedly left a small dog tied to a trash can for hours in Attleboro Wednesday morning.
Attleboro police received a report around 11:19 a.m. that a small, brown dog had been tied to a trash can near the USA Food Mart at 101 Park St. for at least two hours, the department said. An animal control officer responded and took custody of the dog.
Much of Massachusetts is under a heat advisory until Thursday evening, and Boston has declared a heat emergency through Friday.
“A male party was seen walking the dog earlier at 9 a.m.,” police said.
Police released an image of the man walking the dog, captured by a nearby camera, in the general area. The department is asking anyone with information to contact police at 508-222-1212.
