Mattapan man charged in fatal domestic stabbing of 36-year-old woman in Brockton

Reynald Biamby, 44, is accused of killing Rose Lacroix overnight.

A Mattapan man was arrested Tuesday and charged with murdering a 36-year-old woman overnight in Brockton in what authorities are calling a “fatal domestic violence incident.”

Reynald Biamby, 44, will be arraigned on one count of murder in Brockton District Court on Wednesday, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office said in a statement.

Brockton police responded around 4:15 a.m. to a 9-1-1 call reporting an emergency at 341 Centre St., the DA’s office said in a statement. At the scene, police and first responders found the body of a woman, later identified as 36-year-old Rose Lacroix of Mattapan.

Biamby was also found at the scene suffering from injuries, the DA’s office said. He was taken to a Boston hospital for treatment. He was arrested later Tuesday afternoon after he was released from the hospital.

The investigation into the fatal stabbing is ongoing by local and state police, the DA’s office said.
