A person died early Monday morning after, authorities say, they were struck by a train in West Roxbury.
Boston police said officers responded to the area of 450 Lagrange St., near the MBTA’s West Roxbury station, around 5:27 a.m. for a report of a person “possibly struck” by a commuter rail train.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Authorities did not release the person’s name.
As a result of the incident, shuttle buses replaced rail service on the Needham Line between Needham Heights and Forest Hills during the morning rush, with regular service resuming around 9:30 a.m.
