An 8-year-old boy died after he was pulled from a pond in Clinton Wednesday afternoon, according to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office.
At around 2:30 p.m., Clinton police responded to the area near the Clinton Housing Authority’s Harborview Apartments on Lakeside Avenue, the DA’s office said. A short time later, the boy was found unresponsive in a nearby body of water.
Emergency personnel transported the boy to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Clinton Police Department and State Police detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office are continuing to investigate the incident.
The DA’s office did not have additional information as of Thursday morning.
