The driver of a Kia Sportage, which crashed into a tree in West Yarmouth on Thursday morning, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Yarmouth police say they received a 911 call reporting the crash on Willow Street, near Eversource, shortly after 5:30 a.m. Officers found the Sportage with heavy damage, and police initially believe the vehicle was traveling south at a “high speed.”
The driver was the only person in the SUV. The crash remains under investigation.
