Authorities released the name Tuesday of the woman who was killed Monday in a hit-and-run in Springfield.
Annabelle Rufino, 57, of Springfield was struck by a car near Bay and Bowles Street, the Hampden County District Attorney’s office said in a statement. Police responded to the scene around 10:30 a.m. and she was rushed to Baystate Medical Center. where she succumbed to her injuries.
The vehicle believed to be involved in the crash, a white sedan, has been recovered by Springfield police, the DA’s office said.
Authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact police at (413) 787-6335 or, to share information anonymously, text CRIMES (2-7-4-6-3-7) and type “SOLVE” along with the tip.
“This remains an ongoing investigation by the Hampden District Attorney’s Motor Vehicle Homicide Unit and the Springfield Police Department,” the DA’s office said.
