Authorities in Western Massachusetts are asking for the public’s help as they search for the driver involved in the fatal hit-and-run of a woman Monday morning in Springfield.
Springfield police said officers responded to the 100 block of Bowles Street around 10:20 a.m. for a report of a single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a woman, was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where she died from her injuries, police said.
The driver of the vehicle, a white Acura sedan, did not remain at the scene.
Police released photos of the car and asked anyone with information to contact investigators at (413) 787-6300.
The fatal crash is under investigation by Springfield police and the Hampden County District Attorney’s office.
