Boston police have released the name of the 21-year-old man who was shot and killed in Roxbury last week.
Police said officers responded around 10 p.m. on Thursday to a call for a person shot near 163 Ruthven St. At the scene, officers found Teo Vernice of Hyde Park suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
“Preliminary findings suggest the shooting may have occurred inside a vehicle that crashed at the scene,” police said in a statement.
Vernice was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police said homicide detectives are investigating and urged anyone with information to contact the unit at (617) 343-4470. Information can also be submitted anonymously at 1 (800) 494-TIPS, by texting “TIP” to CRIME (27463), or online.
“Photos and videos related to the investigation may also be submitted anonymously,” police said.
