A man was struck and killed by an MBTA Commuter Rail train in Brockton Tuesday, police confirmed.
The incident occurred while the man was “trespassing on the right of way” at the Brockton station, MBTA Transit Police Superintendent Richard Sullivan said in a statement.
Transit Police and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office are leading an investigation. Foul play is not suspected, Sullivan said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No further information was released about his identity or the circumstances surrounding his death.
“On behalf of the TPD and the entire MBTA organization we offer our most sincere condolences to the decedent’s family and friends,” Sullivan said.
