A 43-year-old man driving a motor scooter died Tuesday afternoon after colliding with a vehicle on Route 110 in Dracut, police said.
Michael Lacrosse, of Lowell, was going westbound on Route 110 “when he crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with a vehicle,” according to police. The crash took place around 3:44 p.m., police said.
When police and fire crews said they arrived at the scene, a bystander was performing CPR on Lacrosse. First responders took over his care, and he was transported to Lowell General Hospital, where Lacrosse was pronounced dead, Dracut police said.
The other vehicle was driven by a Methuen woman, 50, who remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, Dracut police said.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with assistance from Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction, Dracut police said. The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office is also assisting.
