A 69-year-old man died from his injuries following a car crash on I-95 in Attleboro on Sunday, officials said.

Attleboro firefighters responded to a single-vehicle crash report at 7:25 p.m. and found the car flipped on its side in the woods next to the highway, according to a statement from the Attleboro Fire Department.

Among the wreckage, first responders said they found an unconscious man, identified as James Hobbs of Dorchester, in a Toyota Corolla that had struck a tree, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s office.

Fire personnel used extrication tools to remove Hobbs, the sole occupant, from the vehicle, according to the Attleboro Fire Department. He was transported to Sturdy Memorial Hospital while paramedics performed CPR, but was later pronounced dead.
