A juvenile from Sutton is facing a motor vehicle homicide charge after they were involved in a fatal crash with a cyclist in Bellingham on Monday.
Bellingham police responded to 120 South Main St. at 12:44 p.m. for a report of the crash. “Upon arrival, first responders located the bicyclist, who had sustained critical injuries,” police said.
The cyclist — a 60-year-old man from Woonsocket, Rhode Island — was treated on scene and then taken to Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, where he was later pronounced dead, officials said. The juvenile driver was transported to Milford Regional Medical Center.
In addition to motor vehicle homicide, the juvenile is facing a negligent operation of a motor vehicle charge and a marked lanes violation. The crash remains under investigation.
