Authorities are searching for a missing fishing boat that was last known to be off the coast of Cape Cod.
The Seahorse, a 30-foot fishing vessel, is two days overdue from a planned return, the Coast Guard said Tuesday morning. The boat, which has a mermaid on its bow and “SEAHORSE” painted on its stern in “rough lettering,” is captained by Shawn Arsenault. According to the Coast Guard, the boat was known to be out in the area of the Target Ship Wreck in Cape Cod Bay off the coast of Eastham.
A cell phone ping last placed the vessel two miles offshore Chatham, according to the Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard is asking anyone with information to contact the Sector Southeastern New England command center at (866) 819-9128.
