A Framingham man was arraigned in district court Tuesday after allegedly striking and killing a woman with his car Sunday night.
Stewart Anderson, 44, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing personal injury or death, according to a statement from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. The judge set a $100,000 bail.
Framingham police responded to 1881 Worcester Road on Route 9 at approximately 10:25 p.m. for a pedestrian crash. The victim — Julie Stewart, 41 — had lifesaving procedures performed on her and was transported to MetroWest Medical Center before being pronounced dead, the office said.
The operator was identified as Anderson, who did not remain at the scene and was arrested at his home later on Sunday night, according to the statement. The car was found parked behind a building with significant damage to the front.
The crash is being investigated by Framingham police, Massachusetts State Police, and the district attorney’s office.
