N.H. officials investigating after man apparently drowns while fishing

The 65-year-old man was not wearing a life jacket when he was found, officials said.

Authorities are investigating the apparent drowning death of a 65-year-old man in New Hampshire. 

First responders were called to Beaver Brook in the area of Sullivan Road in Hudson around 9:25 a.m. on Sunday for a report that a fisherman fell into the water and was missing, State Police said

Marine patrol officer, along with local police and fire, responded to assist with the search. The body of the fisherman, later identified as 65-year-old John Coutu of Nashua, was found less than an hour later. 

According to officials, he was not wearing a life jacket when he was found.

State Police Marine Patrol is investigating his death. 

“While investigators believe the death is not suspicious and was an accidental drowning, all aspects of the incident remain under investigation,” police said.
