A New Hampshire woman and boy died early Friday morning from gunshot wounds in what authorities are investigating as a “possible murder and suicide.”
Pembroke police responded to a single-family home at about 1 a.m. after a 911 call. There, they found the caller and located “an adult female and a minor child” who were both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, according to a release from the state Attorney General’s Office.
The child — a boy — was taken to Concord Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The woman was pronounced dead in the home.
Both of the deceased lived in the home, but officials did not specify how or if they were related.
“While the investigation is just beginning, there does not appear to be any threat to the general public in connection with these two deaths,” the AG’s office said. “At this time, authorities are investigating this as a possible murder and suicide of these two residents living at that location.”
Autopsies were scheduled for later Friday.
