Boston police are investigating after a 3-year-old child died Wednesday in Mattapan, police said.
Just before midnight Tuesday, officers responded to a radio call for a 3-year-old child in cardiac arrest at 9 Hannon St., Officer Michael Torigian said.
Officers were informed that the child had been taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. They responded to the hospital and learned that the child had been pronounced dead, Torigian said in a statement.
Homicide detectives responded to 9 Hannon St. to investigate, and the area “remains an active crime scene,” according to the statement.
No arrests have been made as of Wednesday afternoon, but the incident is still under investigation, and more details will be provided as they become available, Torigian said.
