Two men were arraigned Wednesday in Superior Court in Salem in connection with the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old Lynn man last month, authorities announced.
Eric Hines was found shot in the area of 33 High St. in Lyn on April 10 and taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Brian Rivera, 36, was arraigned for Hines’s murder on Wednesday, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s office. In addition to murder, Rivera is facing charges of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, receiving an untraceable firearm, and a firearm violation with a prior violent/drug offense.
Rivera pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him and was ordered held without bail.
A second man, 35-year-old Michael Constabile of Lynn, is charged with accessory after the fact, prosecutors announced. Constabile pleaded not guilty at his Wednesday arraignment; he was ordered held on $50,000 bail, prosecutors said.
Attorneys for Rivera and Constabile did not immediately return requests for comment. They are both scheduled to return to court for pretrial hearings June 30.
