A skydiver was taken by a medical helicopter to a trauma center with critical injuries after an incident in southern Maine on Thursday afternoon.
First responders were called to Skydive New England in Lebanon just after 2 p.m. for “a male skydiver that had fallen at a high rate of speed from heights of more than 50 feet,” according to Lebanon Fire & EMS. He was treated on scene and then taken to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, New Hampshire, where an awaiting Boston MedFlight helicopter transported him to the trauma center.
The FAA is investigating the cause of the incident.
