A Roger Williams University student from Rhode Island died unexpectedly April 26 while studying abroad in Italy, the university said.
Paige Moreau was in Florence on a study abroad program when she “experienced a medical emergency” which resulted in her death, the university announced on Facebook.
Moreau was an architecture student in the class of 2026, according to the university. She imparted her “leadership, mentorship, and spirit” on campus through her roles as a resident assistant and as building manager at the university’s Student Programs, Leadership, and Orientation office.
“Paige will be deeply missed,” the university wrote. “As we mourn this profound loss, we stand together sending messages of love and support to her friends and family.”
Moreau worked as an intern at Bisbano + Associates, Inc., an architectural and interior design firm in Providence. Matt Silva, senior program manager at the firm, shared a statement in remembrance of Moreau, who was set to return for a summer internship.
“Paige brought a breath of fresh air and perspective to our office, from her sudden picture taking, quips, great questions and attention to detail,” Silva wrote in the statement. “We’re so glad to have met Paige, and think of her as part of this family — as little time as it was. You were taken from this world far too young, please rest in peace.”
Moreau was a graduate of Lincoln High School, according to her LinkedIn profile.
