A teenager drowned in Raymond, New Hampshire, over the weekend after a canoe overturned in Governors Lake.
Just after midnight on Saturday night, officials received a report that a group of four people were canoeing on the lake when their vessel flipped over. Three people made it to shore but soon realized that their fourth friend was still missing, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
Fish and Game officers, local police, and State Police helped searched the lake through the early morning hours of Sunday. At about 8 a.m., they recovered the body of the missing teenager in about 9 feet of water, about 60 feet from the shore, officials said.
The victim was identified only as a 15-year-old from Raymond.
