Police on Cape Cod are investigating after officers found nearly 500 nails lining several roads and driveways in Falmouth, sharp ends pointing up.
An officer first spotted the nails while patrolling John Parker Road around 2 a.m. Friday, the Falmouth Police Department explained in a statement. Police checked the area on foot and found more nails on Clark Street, Old Barnstable Road, and Prince Henry Drive, the department said.
“Some nails were positioned under vehicle tires in driveways,” Falmouth police said, offering several photos of the offending hardware.
With the help of the town’s Department of Public Works, officers collected 478 nails in all.
Falmouth police urged anyone with information or camera footage of the incident to contact them.
