Authorities are investigating after a bullet was found in the bathroom of a Haverhill school on Monday, The Eagle-Tribune reports.
The single bullet was found in the boys bathroom in the high school just after 11:30 a.m., the district said in a statement to the newspaper. State and local police responded and remained at the school until the end of the day, when students were dismissed around the regular time.
Police told the Eagle-Tribune that no other concerning items were found during a search inside and outside of the building and officers remained on campus until the end of the school day.
The district told the newspaper that school will be in session on Tuesday as normal, but there will be an additional police presence out of an “abundance of caution.”
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
