Newly returned from space, NASA astronaut and Needham native Suni Williams received a tail-wagging welcome home from her furry friends.

Williams shared her heartwarming reunion with her two Labradors in a video on X.

“Best homecoming ever!” she wrote in the caption.

After being stuck at the International Space Station for nine months, Williams and her fellow astronaut Butch Williams finally returned home March 18. Landing off the Florida Panhandle in their SpaceX capsule, the two were whisked away in reclining stretchers to receive routine medical checks.

Once Williams adjusted to gravity and was checked over by flight surgeons, she returned to her home in Needham.

In the video, Williams greeted her two dogs as they ran around her, with one of them proudly presenting a stick.

“Are you showing off?” Williams asked her Labrador.

Williams jokingly accused the dog of giving her “the cold shoulder” as it circled across the yard.

“You are just too much,” she said to the other as the golden Labrador looked on.

Social media commenters also welcomed Williams home and shared how happy they were for her.

“Nothing beats that pure, tail-wagging love!” one commenter wrote. “They clearly missed their space hero!”
