Watch: Ed Sheeran just did the weather on WBZ

Sheeran's appearance comes just hours before his pop-up pub opening Friday night on the North Shore.

Ed Sheeran delivered Ipswich’s weather forecast on WBZ ahead of his pop-up pub opening scheduled for Friday night.

Sheeran relayed the North Shore town’s weather forecast, which is looking cloudy with a chance of showers, according to the British singer-songwriter.

“Ipswich weather, what can I say?” he said. “Thank you very much for having me on.”

Sheeran is scheduled to open The Old Phone, a pop-up Irish pub in Ipswich, on Friday night. Fans have been lining up outside the pub since 5 a.m., 7News reported.

But Friday’s event won’t be Sheeran’s first time in a Massachusetts pub. Earlier this month, Sheeran played a surprise show on St. Patrick’s Day at The Dubliner Irish Pub in Boston.

Sheeran shared more details about The Old Phone on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Wednesday night.

The “full working pub” will stand for two days, Sheeran said, and will be featured in a music video for his new song, “Old Phone.”

“The music video is basically [showing] the build of the pub with everyone locally,” he said. “To get entry to it you have to go on your old phone and find an old message that means a lot to you or a video that means a lot to you and send it in.”

Sheeran says he plans to project the messages he receives on the pub’s walls.
