Police found skeletal remains near a New Hampshire golf course on Thursday, officials said.
Following up on a tip received Wednesday, Derry police searched around the Hoodkroft Country Club golf course and found the remains, according to a statement from New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will examine the remains in a process that could take months, according to the statement.
Officials said the age of the remains, the cause of death, the person’s age, or any other identifying markers are currently unknown. However, a report from WMUR-TV says that the tip was in regards to a missing woman named Amanda Grazewski.
Grazewski left a home on Birch Street in Derry on March 17, 2020, without a phone, purse, or easy access to a car, according to the station. She was a 23-year-old single mother of one and had battled addiction, according to Boston 25 News.
Investigators will remain on the scene for at least one more day, according to the attorney general’s statement. The golf course is not yet open to the public.
