Police looking for driver who left overturned car trailer on highway in Worcester

The trailer, which was carrying two vehicles, was left behind.

State police are searching for the driver of a vehicle pulling a car trailer that overturned early Wednesday morning on I-290 in Worcester.

Police said troopers responded just after 5 a.m. to the crash near mile marker 16.4 but at the scene, police could not find the vehicle that had been hauling the overturned trailer or its driver.

Two lanes on the eastbound side of the interstate had to be closed following the crash.

Police said the investigation into the crash and the whereabouts of the driver involved remains ongoing.
