A 32-year-old man was arraigned Monday in Brockton District Court on charges that he placed neo-Nazi stickers on the Bridgewater State University campus earlier this month.
Michael Beaudry of Bridgewater pleaded not guilty to one count of vandalizing property and one count of tagging property, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office. Bail was set at $2,500, and Beaudry was ordered to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet, stay away from the university, and surrender all firearms should he make bail.
Prosecutors said Beaudry was arrested following an investigation by Bridgewater State University police, Bridgewater police, and State Police. The investigation began on March 3 when neo-Nazi propaganda stickers were found around the bus stop on Railroad Drive and the Spring Street parking lot.
According to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office, investigators found that surveillance cameras captured the driver of a white pickup truck, later identified as Beaudry, placing the stickers on the plexiglass of the bus stop around 7:36 a.m. on March 1. Beaudry allegedly took a picture of the sticker with his cell phone.
“He is also captured on camera giving a Nazi salute after posting one sticker,” the DA’s office said in a statement.
During a search of Beaudry’s vehicle on March 7, investigators allegedly found antisemitic and white nationalist stickers. Police also allegedly found more such stickers “on Beaudry’s person,” along with a Hitler Youth knife with a swastika on the handle.
Attorney information for Beaudry was not immediately available. He is scheduled to return to court April 1.
