Fishermen working off the coast of Massachusetts pulled a decomposing body up with their fishing nets Friday, officials announced Sunday.
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said that detectives assigned to their office and the U.S. Coast Guard responded to a fishing vessel in Boston that reported the body Friday morning.
The fishing vessel said the body came up in the fishing nets around 40 miles off of the Massachusetts coast, the DA said.
The body “was wrapped and in a state of decomposition,” the DA’s office said, which is with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
The body has not been identified.
No other information was released as of Sunday night.
