The collapse took place amid high winds in the area with local meteorologists warning of gusts of up to 50-60 mph around the state. Boston Logan Airport also warned travelers of potential flight delays due to the wind.
No injuries have been reported from the scaffolding collapse, a Boston police spokesperson confirmed by phone Friday.
Officers responded to the scene shortly before 11 a.m. and have since worked to divert traffic away from the area.
Cleanup is underway, the spokesperson added.
Authorities notified Boston Inspectional Services of the incident, and an investigation is ongoing.
