CVS Health is laying off nearly 200 employees who report to a company office in Wellesley, according to a filing with the state.

Most of the 183 affected employees work remotely and live out of state, but three of the workers are Massachusetts residents, according to the Workers Adjustment and Restraining Act notice filed with the state on Feb. 28.

The cuts by the Woonsocket, Rhode Island-based company will take place by May 3.

Ethan Slavin, a spokesperson for CVS Health, told Boston.com the total number of employees affected by the layoffs includes those who report to Massachusetts-based managers.

“We remain committed to supporting these colleagues, who will receive severance pay and benefits, including access to outplacement services,” Slavin said.

In September, CVS Health, which also operates health insurer Aetna., announced it would lay off 2,900 people. A company spokesperson told Supermarket News the layoffs were part of a “multi-year initiative to deliver $2 billion in cost savings.” Additional cuts of hundreds of jobs were announced in October.
