A 1-year-old from Worcester who was believed to be with her mother and in danger last week was found safely, police announced on Friday.
Worcester police said they were looking for Liyana Collins, 1, and her mother, Amanda Collins, last Wednesday. Officials asked for the public’s help locating Liyana, who they said was with Collins.
Worcester police posted an update on Facebook Friday that “Liyana has been located and is safe. Thank you for your assistance.” The update did not include any information about Collins’s whereabouts.
A spokesperson for the Worcester police said Sunday that Collins “was never missing and is not currently missing.”
“We needed to talk to her because we were looking for her daughter,” Officer Sean Murtha said in an email.
No other information was available Sunday evening about Collins.
